I'm brand new to incubating, first timer. I had one chick hatch sometime around 4am, it's now 12pm and it still looks damp not fluffy at all. Is this a DUH, because the humidity in the incubator and it won't dry off till I take it out? I have 11 more eggs in there that aren't popping yet and I'm not sure what to do?
History: I set 32 eggs, day 11 I pulled 5 that quit and gave 9 to a hen that just went broody that day. Day 18 I pulled 6 more eggs that had quit and put the remaining 12 on lock down. Sounds like my first time is not going fantastic . I don't want to harm this little OR the remaining eggs but I don't know what I'm to do now?
It's a Little Giant incubator.

Leave it... it should dry off even with higher humidity, unless it's way too high... is it that she has goop on her or is she really just still wet? Congrats on your first hatch!

Thanks! Not sure because I'm looking through a humid window? It looks like just hatched look to me. Not fluffing at all.
I added a picture but of course it's not very clear through the window.

Hmm we've never had that problem is she just wet or is there still embryo (goop) on her... is she moving around or laying down... sorry for the questions lol... by this time they should be running around like crazy in the incubator

What kind of bird is it also?

If there's condensation on the window, then yes, humidity is too high and that's why she's not drying. Aim for about 70%. Can you reduce it?

There also might be a plug on the incubator that you can take out and releases some condensation so theres not to much that will help her dry off there should never be any condensation... Also the reason I'm talking about the plug is because our incubators have a little red plug that you can take out for a little bit than look at the humidity reason and 65 or 70 is a pretty good number

The red plug (if it's a LG) should already be out by lockdown.

Oh! What do you mean by lockdown ours we just take out ourself
? I mean the red plugs should be taken out either at start of incubation or day 10 to ensure optimal oxygen for developing embryos. Less of an issue if you're going to be opening to turn.
