We might have a different incubator though because ours we don't take out at the begging and we have done many hatches and they have all been successfulOhhh okay lol now i understand sorry I was completely confused of what you were saying haha.

We might have a different incubator because with ours we never did that and we had had many hatches and they have all been successful? I mean the red plugs should be taken out either at start of incubation or day 10 to ensure optimal oxygen for developing embryos. Less of an issue if you're going to be opening to turn.
Oh, it's not a completely critical thing... just might help increase hatch rate, especially if you have a full incubator. Most LGs have enough leaks that they aren't air tight anyway. We might have a different incubator because with ours we never did that and we had had many hatches and they have all been successful
Oh okay! Well I learned something new today... lol.Oh, it's not a completely critical thing... just might help increase hatch rate, especially if you have a full incubator. Most LGs have enough leaks that they aren't air tight anyway.
Have you calibrated? It is almost 100% sure it's off by a lot. Ditto with the built in temp gauge. That doesn't sound right at all, so just reduce water surface area until it's just barely not condensing. That's what I do when the hygro's busted.I don't have a hydrometer but my LG says the humidity is 68%. I feel like it's to hot in there. I lifted the lid for a second to get a look at the chick and a puff of steam came out at my face. The little guff is sitting off to the corner breathing heavy but not panting. Both red plugs are removed.
I believe the one that hatched out is a Brahma. I also have some EE's set (hatching out of blue eggs) and some Welsummers and one tetra tint/Welsummer cross.
I think I'm going to make the call and pull the chick out and put her under broody Big Mamma. She has the "silblings" ready to hatch under her and she's an excellent Mamma. She's never refused a chick I've put with her.
