One Chick Hatched Not Drying Off

So I got a meat thermometer from my kitchen and stuck it in one of the tiny holes. It's reads 101.4 but shoots up to 108 when the heater comes on!! And my incubator says 98.9. I know my meat thermometer is calibrated. Lower the temperature on the bator?
Still air?
 
Oh my!! Drop the temp immediately, forced air should be at 100*F... It's a wonder you've gotten anything to hatch.
I know!! :barnie I thought the incubator was at 99.5 degrees all along but now that I'm testing it with the other thermometer it's all over the place! Stupid thing I've bumped it down to 93 degrees to try to stabilize the temp. :he If any other chicks hatch from this thing it will be a miracle!
On a happy note the little chick is all fluffed up and happy with Big Mamma and one of the eggs under her has begun to pip and another is peeping! :wee
