I have 18 six week old chickens. A combination of Reds, Pylmouth Rocks, and Cornish Rocks. I got up this morning to a Red that wasn't moving. Just laying there kind of trapped between her feeder and the wall. I put them outside and got a special box ready for the sick chicken. When I went out to get her, she was dead. No sign of trauma or anything and all was well the night before! Tonight, when of the Cornish Rocks is panting with her mouth wide open. Everyone else seems fine. The chick that died wasn't panting but she did seem to be breathing heavy. I have never had chickens before and just don't know what to do. Please help!

I hope someone can help you. Hang in there

Let me ask you a few questions that might help someone to diagnose the problem...
Where did you get your chickens?
Are they vaccinated?
What kind of bedding are you using?
Are their droppings normal?

That's all I can think of right now...

My husband got them at Tractor Supply and they said they had been vaccinated. I am using pine shavings and have been since the first day. Some droppings seem a bit watery but most are firm and a medium brown.
