I have 3 red sex link chickens that were born the beginning of March. They all started laying eggs at 5 months and I got 3 eggs a day for months. For the last month I have only been getting 2 eggs a day every day. I don't know which chicken isn't laying. I have checked them all for crop problems and egg stuck. They are all eating and all acting perfectly normal. Is it normal for chickens to just stop laying eggs at such a young age? Thanks! Tamma

I don't know exactly where you live, but it may be because of the cold. You could try adding more protein to her diet.(May work, may not. I'm no chicken farmer.) All chickens behave differently-One of my hens just passed because of pneumonia, and the other was/is just fine.

With less daylight, it is normal for them to slow down. They are all probably still laying, just alternating their days off. If any look like they are missing their tails, they are going through a minor molt - this would cause them to quit laying as well.
