Hi guys,
I only have two hens and they both seemed fine this morning, maybe a little hot, but I went out late this afternoon and one hen was dead face down on the floor of the run and the other was just sitting next to the dead one. They are both a little over a year old, neither had laid eggs in a few days(I thought maybe because of the heat) and now the living one's comb is pale and leaning to the side. She is acting weird and only wants to be in her nest.
If she does end up being okay, is it okay to have only one chicken or will she be upset not having a companion?
Any help on what could be going on with her would be greatly appreciated! I am attaching pictures.
