One eye closed and one opened

Hey guys! This is Maya and today I noticed one of eyes are closed and the other is open. Is this a sign of illness? If so, how do I help her? I barely got chickens a few months ago so I don’t know much about illnesses I do try to learn though.

Have you ever got something in your eye and it scratched the cornea and hurt like the dickens? You probably kept the eye closed as long as it was hurting. So does a chicken.

You can help her by flushing the eye with saline, buy some at the pharmacy or use sterile lubricating eye drops to flush the eye or make your own from a recipe on the internet. Flush the eye and place a bead of Neosporin or Terramycin antibiotic in the eye twice a day until it is healed.

Hi! I have a 11 week old chicken who has one eye closed suddenly (and is also lethargic). I took her to the vet and everything checked out as fine. She perked up and opened the eye again after electrolytes and was fine a few days. Now it's closed again and lethargy back. Did you ever find a solution for your chicken's one eye closure? Thank you so much!
