This chicken is perfectly happy and seems healthy in every other way - eating drinking, ranging with flock etc. Her other eye is totally fine and looks normal. However she's got one eye which she half closes - if she's interested in something she opens it wider. I can't see anything wrong with the eye itself.

Any ideas?

Is this new or has she been doing this for a long time?

I had one over the summer that got a piece of dirt in her eye and had rubbed it until it was swollen shut. Fortunately I caught it quickly since I was out with them. We rinsed the dirt out and put ointment on it at night but it was a couple of months before all the swelling went down.
She looked like that until it healed fully. Even now there is a slight difference between her eyes.

She's had it like this for ages, months and months. I'll have a closer look and see if I I can spot any dirt in it. It doesn't look swollen though I don't think. I had wondered some kind of light sensitivity but don't know why that would affect one eye.

Is she acting normal besides her eye? How long is she? Does she currently lay? Is she eating and drinking good? She may have gotten injured or got something in her eye. I'd flush it out and see if that helps.

Hello, I know this is not related to your post but can I ask what breed is your chicken? if she is mixed what breed are her parents? thank you so much.

By the way, Try putting some Terramycin Opthalmic Ointment on her eyes.
