I hope so too, thanks. Here's a close up of the darker image. This is her "good" side. I double checked and the skin around the eye that's closed is redder. Really not sure what to put on it without making it worse.
How is your girl doing today? Mine finally has her tail back up so I think the electrolytes did their job. Her eye is still closed, but she did open it up a few times this morning. It's still red, but not as bad as the last two days. There is still no swelling or discharge. I'm not quite sure when I should place her back with the others. She looks like she really misses them
Well I checked her when I got home yesterday and she looked the same. Looks like she's still eating normally. I think I'm gong to try washing the eye and put a little neosporin around it when I get home from work. Good to know yours is starting to perk up ;-)
Here's some pictures of my girl so you can see the resemblance in their condition. Here's her bad eye open. You can see the redness inside the eye. Here is the same eye closed. Here's her good eye.
I hope their eyes are better soon. It's so hard to see her this way and to keep her away from her friends. I'm pretty sure she's depressed.
Yup looks very similar. Mine still looks the same HOWEVER my black star now looks like she's caught it . So I went ahead and separated the two and my husband is going to TSC 1st thing in the morning. To be continued......
Oh no! Let me know what they tell you. I keep checking my other chicken's eyes and no one else has developed it. I hope both your chickies are well soon. Mine is eating better today and she managed to keep her eye open while getting treats. It's still a bit red, but not as bad as it was before. I'm hoping and praying that she's finally on the mend and can be re-integrated with the flock by this weekend.
It doesn't look like Pox to me, she would have the white/cream colored postules or brown scabs after they burst. She could just have an eye infection. Good luck.
Hmm...well I did see some black/brown scabs that looks like they're disappearing now. All I'm doing is every couple of days I wash eye with saline using an eye dropper then dab some vetericyn around the eye. also giving her some terramicyn in water. No problems in appetite, she is eating/drinking like normal. Here's some updated pics from today. Weird thing is that I think my black star caught it from her and healed fairly quickly with the same treatment.
My Black Star "pepper" when I first treated her. Eye has cleared up and open now. I still have her isolated tho.
My Buff Orpington this morning...this is her "bad eye". notice how the alleged pox looks like it's disappearing as compared to the 1st pictures of her on this thread.
I separated the two that I'm treating so far but I'm noticing it's starting to spread to the others. Here's my delaware "poopsie". This is more similar to yours, I think.
