one hatched!!! but theres a problem

one of two duck eggs hatched but i had to interfer with the hatch and do it myself. the problem is it hatched an hour ago and its already trying to stand. ive been told that they should start standing eight hours after they hatch but its not. i also know that i need to place him on straw but i dont have it i have northern white pine bedding wat do i do thanks

Don't worry about standing early. Ducklings just need to be on a surface that affords them grip so the legs don't splay. Shavings are iffy because they will try to eat them. You can use papertowels.
