My first quail hatched.

How long will it ok in the bator without food and water. It's peeping it's little heart out all by it's self. It hatched last night around 8:00.

I haven't seen any other pips yet.

They can only stay in the incubator for about 24 hours. I would take it out if there are no other pips. Because they are so tiny, they need to eat and drink sooner than chickens do.

I leave mine in a good 24 hours. If it is peeping a lot that will encourage others to hatch. Congrats!

My last hatch just finished and it went over a 3 day period. I took my first group of hatchlings out after 24 hours and my last ones 24 hours after that.

YAAAY! I usually have one hatch a good 24 hours before the others pip, but they pip, zip, and start peeping their heads off in about 15 minutes. It's crazy fast.

Pictures!! We need pictures!!

I have one cochin egg that pipped last night.

One of the ones from ChickenAddict hatched so I'm hoping it encourages my swap eggs to finish pipping and zipping!

just remember, everytime you open that bator, you are putting all the rest of them in danger..

If you MUST open the bator do so only after 24hours have passed after the next one hatches. and then only if there are no pips you are aware of..

Ignore the loud peeping.. you do not speak quail.. you do not know what he is saying.. he is just making it known that he is out of the egg..

The tiniest of the eggs you sent hatched. It's a black chick with bare legs and a white bib. The others haven't pipped, but I'm hoping that they will. I'm going to give them a couple more days.

I have no idea what this little chick is

I'll post pictures tonight when it fluffs up.
