One last confirmation before Henry gets rehomed?

spread the feathers at the base of the tail by now you should see saddles coming in if this one is in deed a cockerel...just our barred rock hens who were 2 years didnt have that much wattle nor that big of a comb
I've tried and haven't been able to ID any saddle feathers but maybe I just done know what I'm looking for?

Looking back at the timing of your first post, this bird is about 11-12 weeks old, correct? If so, that's all boy. You can keep him around for  a while, but he's gonna crow. Sounds like he's starting already--they sound pretty pitiful when the start!

I agree he's not colored like a full barred rock rooster, maybe he is a mix? But even fast maturing leghorn hens don't have that much comb/wattle/redness at this age.
yup, he's right around 3 months. Bummer :( and yes, very possible he's a mix -- he didn't come from a hatchery.

At three months old, no chance that's a girl. Sorry .. =( It's dark enough to be a girl, but I had some mixed breed barred chickens last year that were very dark, dark wash down legs, etc - and they were boys anyways, with combs starting out early.

I agree that at 3 months that's a boy. That's why putting the age in these types of posts is so important because if that were a 5-6 month old bird, I would have leaned towards girl instead.
