One more try...who is DD?!

Hi everyone! On my last post about DD, it was a bit inconclusive as to what breed she may be. Someone had thought just poor Black Australorp breeding, but she is just way too different to be a one off - her body is a bit different, her eyes are honey with a distinctive pupil, and that comb!!!

Here is a better picture now that she is more mature and has a larger comb! She is 19 weeks and was sold as a Black Australorp (in a hatchery shipment of 8 BA)

Yes to the white feet and no eggs yet! So strange how much a bird can vary in the same breed if she is a BA!

I agree. Hatchery birds are not perfect. I have GLWs that have poor lacing.

Her comb appears to be a carnation comb or just has many side sprigs. This does seem to pop up at times

Hatcheries breed for amount, not for perfection.

Well...its not like hatcheries breed for SOP like some breeders might. It costs them more time and costs.
