One of my Babies is Crowing... Sort Of!

He is so cute! I have a Rhode Island Red who we thought was a hen but turned out to be a rooster, he is learning how to crow and he sounds more like a poor coyote being stepped on lol

He is taking turns with my lil Bantam rooster:

Cute. I have a pair (hen and rooster) of Millie Fluer D'Uccles. The are 5 weeks old today, but there are no spots on them. I hope they get spots like yours. Very pretty.

Awwww!!!

I love first crows!!! At least the whistle kind, like yours did, and not the kind that sounds like they're being mauled by the neighborhood cats!!

If you want to keep all of your roosters, you could try seperating the flock according to rooster ratios, and spreading them out so that the noise isn't as packed together, therefore, louder.

But I don't know how much acreage you have, and I'm certainly not going to ask a question like that, but this idea would work best with, let's say 10+ acres, but it's a good idea to try it out if you have less than that to see how it works.

Well out of the 20 straight run assortment of bantams, I ended up with a breedable pair of Millie Fluer D'Uccles, pair of Self Blue D'Uccles, a pair of Silver Penciled Cochins and the roo might be a frizzle, 2 white cochin roosters, a white leghorn ? rooster. and not sure if any of the Silkies are roosters. Plus the barred Cochin and the little brown red Old English, which I really hope are just confused hens. I have enough land to spread them out. but my husband will not be looking forward to building that many coops. Might have to do some trading to get some more hens.

Thank you! That picture was taken 2 months ago, he was hatched out in October, he gets prettier and prettier by the day :)
