One of my girls ate a frog 😳

So, I go outside to check on my chickens and here comes one of RIR girls with something large in her mouth, I tiptoe over and lo and behold, its a frog, at least 2" long. She then proceeds to swallow it whole! Do I need to be worried?!

No, no worries. They also eat mice, voles, salamanders, small snakes. And road kill, but I don't let mine do that, anymore.

We rescued a frog from one of our cats the other day, and put it out in our "garden," which is actually the chicken run which I still think of as the garden bc it has a large section of lilies in it. Later in the day I saw one of the hens running around with something odd hanging from her beak. I can't be sure, but I fear it was that poor frog. Next time cat rescues will go in the cow pasture!
