I found two leftover raviolis in the fridge this morning. The chicken and mozzarella ones from Costco. Microwaved them, then cut them into small pieces and served them up to my chickens for their breakfast.

Another food that they love to mac out on is Gardenburger. Gardenburger is made from mushrooms, onions, brown rice, rolled oats, cheese, and spices...veggie burger for breakfast, why not?

I haven't offered them pizza yet, but I will next time we have any leftover.

I am a newbie with 24 pullets, 16 weeks old. We used to give our dog toast and she absolutely loved it. She would have a fit when the toaster popped. It was cute, but expensive in the end. She developed a so-called "food allergy to protein". What it is really, is a yeast overgrowth caused by eating yeast (which is not in the natural diet of any carnivore) It is just like Candida, and when it flares up, she loses hair and her skin turns red and she itches like crazy.

Bottme line is, WE DID IT TO HER. I am afraid to give our birds anything with yeast because of what happened to our dog. Chickens are omnivores and eat a wide variety of things, but yeast is one thing that can not occur in their diet in natural surroundings. Am I being too cautious?
