He's getting stronger, opening his eyes, lifting his head, and floundering around. Looks very buff. You can see the egg colors in the photo -- shades of brown.
ETA: He was too big for his shell, started pipping a day early for the hatch, was stuck to the membrane, etc. etc. He had to suffer cleaning with a wet Q-tip to keep him from sticking to the screen in the hatcher. I finally added a piece of shelf liner to let him be a little more comfortable -- his little uncoordinated toes were hanging up in the wire screen.
Keeping fingers crossed too. He's having a slow start, but don't give up. Hopefully, opening the bator to help him hasn't caused problems for the other eggs.
Wow, this is insane I never thought that an egg could ever hatch after being in a refrigerator at a store. Keep us updated. I cant wait to see if others hatch.
