We recently just in the past few days noticed one of our hens has some gleet. Accompanied with lethargy. We cleaned her up real good and kept her inside to keep her warm and of course waited to see what her poop looked like. And its pretty runny and white mixed with a thicker black color firmer looking stool. Idk what it could be. The other chickens are all just fine. And after i cleaned her last night her vent was doing its pulsing thing like normal but now its strting to collect on her feathers again i guess cuz shes just sitting around. Any ideas on what to do with her now. She also seems like shes a litter swollen or something or maybe its cuz shes sitting down and her body spreads when she squats down. Idk. I just feel really bad for her and dont know what to do for her right now.

When was the last time you dewormed your chickens?

How old is she?

Does she currently lay? If so, when did she last lay an egg?

Is she showing any other symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, trouble breathing, pale or discolored comb or waddles, etc?

Is her vent prolapsed or bleeding?

Where is she swollen? Can you post pictures? (Any photos of her vent and swollen area would be helpful :) )

Welcome To BYC

Can you post some photos your hen, her vent and her poop?

How old is she?

Is it vent gleet that you are seeing or accumulating urates on the feathers around the vent?

When is the last time she laid an egg? You mention some swelling, but not the location - is it her abdomen below the vent between her legs, her crop...?

Keep her hydrated and see if she will eat for you. Make sure her crop is emptying. Look for lice/mites.

Hopefully with more information, we can offer better suggestions.

Shes not eating and its accumulation poop. Cuz shes not moving so its just drying onto her feathers. The swolleness seems like its her body that looks bigger to me or perhaps cuz shes laying down and so she just looks wider. Hard to tell but she hasnt laid an egg in a few days. No mites or anything. I have bathed her twice and blow dtied her so i hope i would have seen mites or lice at ghat time. I did some research and i think kt seems like it could be the egg yolk peronitis i think its called. Idk. Crop seems normal. Her poop is still that icky white slimy runny with the black dirmerbparts and today it even looks to have some green in it but she did eat some broccoli yesterday.

Also her vent is clear and does that pulsated thing but i think thats normal for it to pulse like that right? I just feel so sorry for her. Idk what to do. I took her outside on the porch so she could be in the sun for a while.

She may be having some reproductive problems.
I would keep her hydrated, you can give her 1 Caltrate a day for a couple of days to see if that helps. Hoping she's having a hard time expelling an egg, but it's not uncommon for a hen to have issues like EYP, cancer or similar.
