We have three Buff Orphingtons which just began laying
about three weeks ago. They were producing one egg
per day per bird.
The smaller of the three was the last to begin laying,
and just in the past 2-3 days she is acting funny.
She sits in the nesting box most of the day while the other two are out scratching and eating and she has not
laid an egg in three days now. If I take her out
of the box, she walks around all fluffed up like a male grouse
in mating season ( I mean reallllly fluffed up!) for a few minutes, then goes back to the
nesting box.
Is this somewhat normal behavior or not ? Neither of the
other two are showing any of the same behavior.
Thanks.... JOS & RHS
