One of our roos died..

We left them for 2 days...left PLENTY of water and food...we came home yesterday and he was on the floor of the coop...can't tell what happened to him but almost looked like he was laying down and just put his head down and never got back up....he was perfectly healthy...other than some pecking that had been done to his comb...noone else looks ill or overheated or anything...

is this normal for them to just drop over like this??? I wish we had been home....first time we have left them and then this happens.

I had a roo die at 3 1/2 months and I was home. Just found it dead one morning. It didn't even look sick in advance. No injury. I never figured out why. I was fully prepared for the whole flock to get sick but it was the only one.
It probably had nothing to do with your being gone. I am sorry you lost him.
