I found two chicks in the road a couple of months ago and attempted to raise them. All was fine until about a month ago, when the larger one suffocated the smaller of the two, accidentally of course. Finding no one willing to add him to their backyard chickens so far, I wondered if it would be ok to add a new little hen to be with him. I understand that this can be tricky and a 1:1 ratio is not good. I just don't have a large place for lots of chickens.
Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated!

from WI. I would give him acompanion, a hen better 2 or 3 depending on your situation. If he harrasses the one (or maybe 2

hens) the saddle may be an option. Where do you keep him? Was the hen significantly smaller or younger?

Many thanks for your kind welcoming messages as well as your advice! It is much appreciated. It seems the consensus is to add at least one hen, more preferably for company. Can I also ask if it would be alright to add a much younger hen? Do you think a two month old rooster would be aggressive towards a much younger bird?
He's quite a character! He's only really comfortable in the yard if a person is outside with him. Otherwise, he prefers to mainly hide until he has company again. He does not like to be outside when it begins to get dark and gets very nervous. One evening he even flew up to our window and pecked nervously until we let him in. We have an outside enclosure for him, but he still wants to come inside and sleep in the cage he was raised in. Does this sound at all normal for a chicken?
