One Uuuuuuugly chick

Oh I have no intention of culling her as long as she's ok. I'm just worried about her. She's quite a little bully so I think she can hold her own... just worried about her health.

So glad to hear that you're keeping her! YAY Now, for the cross beak, I've read where you can trim it slightly to help, and also if she's got a deep food dish to eat from, so that she can "scoop" her food because she will have trouble pecking, that should help her along too.

The last batch of chicks I bought from my favorite hatchery were GLW chicks and a few others. Anyhow, I had ordered one cockerel, but I wasn't sure which one it was, since they didn't mark him. Turned out that the little chick with the slow growing feathers was the cockerel. And he hated to be picked up--he was very feisty! Then he turned into this lovey-dovey little guy overnight! And his feathers finally came in and he looked marvelous.......

The little ugly duckling became a swan.......
