Ongoing Brahma Projects Thread

I'm interested in working on project LF Brahmas, I'm in WI. Anyone have any eggs [or birds] they're willing to ship out?

I just hatched my first gold and buff laced brahmas from a trio I hatched last year. I also have light brahmas. I hope to learn from all of you!

I'm really interested in the blues & lavenders. either self, laced, or columbian. Possibly a couple of other colors, but I want to try to get these ones first. Otherwise I won't have room for them if I do find them down the road. If anyone has any, please PM me.

Awesome! Well, if you have a waiting list somewhere, scratch my name down on it an contact me when you have something ready. :)

Hi all, I'm fairly new to breeding chickens and have never mingled outside of working towards a standard. I understand it will takes years to see a project through but I'm thinking of dabbling. I have a lavender Wyandotte roos I'm thinking of putting over my Light Brahma hens. I know I will not see color in F1 but what can I get from this cross, down the road. Some of my hens have a deep rich undercoat with some ticking but not a lot and 2 of my hens are real crisp but lack that deep under coat. Would one color type be better over the other? Where Roo is lavender Wyandotte, could F2 only be a sibling mating? Or would F1 go back to lavender Wyandotte. Working for comb, form and size? Eager for info before I get started. I will not be hatching until Feb or March, it's too cold here to start much sooner.. Links, info, advise all welcome!!
