This is the grouping I put together. Not sure on all the colors but its a start.
I also have several yards of plain black for the backing and maybe sashing. I am undecided if it should be black or white.
Just a starter quilt in a signature pattern.
I am way to cheap to buy all the charm packs and jelly rolls.
I think my biggest fear is getting the colors wrong.
I have 3 more cushion covers to make before I can start the quilt.
I will certainly post as I get it going.
Unless ya'll get tired of all my questions.![]()
Nobody will get tired of your questions, ask away! Two of your fabrics are directional, meaning they are more of a stripe effect than an all-over pattern. I'm sure you realize that. It sometimes makes a challenge when you go to cut pieces and put them together, is all.
Either black or white for sashing would be stunning.Have you decided yet? I think its pretty.

Cyn, I don't think that is curved piecing. I think it is like the Tennessee Waltz I did. I think it's clever use of angles.I've always loved the look of it, but I think it has curved piecing, if I'm not mistaken. I don't usually do curved piecing, which is why I've never done a wedding ring quilt. What I like about the Giant Dahlia is that it is not a lot of repetitive block-making. It's one giant block, basically.
This is what I've been playing around with using the cut off corners from making the stars on my spring quilt. Pretty scrappy, eh? it, but it's now something instead of just trash.

I dunno, T. I was trying to find a pattern online and folks kept saying it was so challenging. I think you use templates, too, so I'll have to keep looking for a pattern for it to show here. I love the look of the Giant Dahlia, but if it's too complicated, I'd hesitate to possibly ruin all that gorgeous fabric with my lame attempt!Cyn, I don't think that is curved piecing. Thanks! Means a lot coming from a seasoned quilter!I love the design! the color placement adds depth to the quilt and a some optical illusions.
