Once I made a twin size quilt with retail priced, high quality fabrics and batting. Then I quilted it with stippling on my home machine. Someone offered me $50 for it... Since then I've been shy of pricing things to people. They don't realize the time, effort and work that goes into these projects, let alone the costs we incur. Sometimes it seems the only ones who appreciate our crafts are the other's who participate in the same craft because they feel our pain.
Welcome to BYC and to my thread! You are right, that last thing you said. I know that feeling,of not being appreciated. I'd rather give quilts away than take those insulting prices. Heck, you'd be hard-pressed to get something at Walmart for that these days! That won't even cover the fabric. We all feel your pain here. The more I'm underappreciated, the higher my prices go! I'm dead serious here. If they balk, just tell them they can buy Chinese crap at Walmart all day long (no insult meant to my Chinese great niece-in-law, who I adore, but we all know what we're talking about here, commerce-wise).
