Ongoing Quilt Projects, Continued from the "No Appreciation...." Thread

First, I was wrong about the backing I chose. It's the same series, Urban Scandanavian, but it's not the same swirl print. This one is the six yards I got for the backing, pulling the green from that blue/gold/olive green floral main fabric:

Though I love the fabric, I was wondering about the circle fabric on the right in the pic below. It has perfect colors, but is it too geometric for this mood? I think the larger green leaves on the left look softer than this one does. Maybe it's just me, but can it work in here? I love it, for sure, but it's has very defined shapes in it, though better than the gold "balloonish" one I pulled out of the stack.

Try this, take 2 pieces of paper or cardboard, in the 1st cut out a square about 2"×2".... in the 2nd cut out a rectangle about 1"×6".

Lay those on the fabric and move them around to see if you still notice the pattern as much. In narrower aspect it may give you a much different vibe.

I'll do that before I start cutting anything. Tomorrow, they're installing fiber optic internet/cable for us so not sure how much work I'll get done. I had to go 2 hours away to get my military ID renewed so that shot the entire day. I don't want to go to Hades (the city), I want to quilt and play with my chicks!

@DuckLady, Terrie, did you mean these two?
View attachment 1354175 Of course, I bought them online and wasn't sure of the size of the pattern. I may still be able to use the green one, depending on how the pieces are cut. I'm not sure yet what kind of pattern to use these fabrics in. Still pondering on that.

Sorry, I asterisked the ones I meant :)

Funny how we all see different things. LOL

Actually, the far right gold is almost identical in size of pattern to the focus fabric. The second from the left is definitely out of this group. The darker gold one that is crossways is only a fat quarter, though, so not sure I can even get much use of it, depending on what I do as far as a quilt. I may have an idea for the project, though. I may just surprise you and not post a lot of progress photos. ;)

Boy, everyone must be busy! LOL
I am working a lot (again, sigh) and having way too much fun with my embroidery machine. I also am noodling on what quilt to make with the fat quarter packs I brought home from my trip.

Had a lot to do cleaning out two outbuildings, chicks hatching, etc, but I have a project I'm doing, will post pics later as I have more done on it. I am busy! Plus, this is garden season in addition to broody season, of course.
