Coach, you know I wouldn't want my chickens to be embarrassed . It has that kind of wavy glass so they have their privacy. I too am buying more lumber tomorrow. Had a good nap this afternoon. Thought it might rain but no such luck. There is a swap/sale at Jackson TSC this Saturday so hopefully I will sell some chickens there. I have a lot of young birds and my coop building will never keep up with their growth rate. The new dog, Queenie, seems to be settling in well but can't seem to find the other dog to introduce them. But he gets along well with others, so I am not worried.

So I am lying n bed looking at byc on my phone and I hear the dogs barking at each other. I get up and go outside. After calling Joel, the goats all come running over to see what I want. The dog is still barking. I go get him and finally he gets the idea. He meets up with her and she acts submissive so everything is cool. Back to our regularly scheduled lurking.

Here I am in the cardiology office hurry up and wait. You fill out forms then they ask you the same questions and they fill out more forms. They do an EKG , I just had a 24 hour monitor and an EKG at the other doctor's office. Of course I have a big co-pay so insurance is not going to pick it up. Plus the danged air conditioner went caput on my truck while I was gone. I am going broke at this rate.

The worst thing is to forget your reading glasses and try to fill out forms , I've done that. my ac quit on my truck this year,but i don't drive it much.So i drive the wife's truck or the kids cars when they are not using them.I took a blood test 2 weeks ago and still have not heard from them. Maybe you will get your test back around Christmas.Late last night i was on craigslist like always and i looked at the free listing which i almost never do and their was a listing for a 16 foot trailer load of treated lumber mostly from a deck. So i e-mailed him and said that i would call in the morning.I got up late started to feed and almost forgot to call him, but he still had it and i got it!!!!!!!! Of course i still went to lowes and got another 110 bucks of other lumber and some screws-- now if it would only cool of some maybe i could get something done.

I got a great buy on some plywood today too! 4X4sheets of plywood for$0.51 ea.!!! I bought all they had and some 4 foot 2x4s for the same prices. I have enough stuff for 2 small coops, cost me like $16.
Mailed my first box of eggs since vacation. I ended up wrapping them at the po since I was running late. And I forgot to take the heart monitor read out to my dr visit . What an idiot.
Guess I need to get outside but I hate to go there when it is so hot. Good news is cool weather is supposed to be on its way.

Worked a little more on the coop but it is sunny down there and I was getting too hot. So I started another coop up by my garage in the shade. It will be small enough to move once I build it, or maybe I will just frame it up and then finish it in chicken city. Had a guy come and buy 8 young chickens, so that is less to feed and less to catch every night. They have not figured out yet how to get back in the pen at night.
My back is giving me grief, but when I take something for it I fall asleep. Some days you just give in and rest.

Today i did get the door done in a big pen i built in the barn a while back and moved some 8 week olds out in it. Funny i never counted them,i thought i had around30 but i had 56 in 2 boxes.It was a little cooler today but moving the chicks and feeding was about all that i got done. We did go to a sale and bought some things for my girls birthday tomorrow.

Those chickens add up don't they? Tomorrow I need to clean up some cages and decide which ones to take to the sale Saturday . Got some eggs to ship and need to buy more feed. My new dog seems to be setting in well. Tonight I am setting a tray of eggs. I need to test fertility in several pens of new layers.

Shipped eggs, went and got feed. Over$100. and I didn't even buy goat feed! I need to sell more eggs. Got the wire on the bottom of the new mini coop, and the frame is built and painted. First sheet of plywood cut and installed.
Had a call this morning, some lady wanted to look at silkies. So I waited around a while then called to see when she was coming. On their way, she says. So I wait some more. Then she calls to say she found a place closer to where they live so they are not coming .

I wish I could charge an aggravation fee. At least she did let me know.
I really need to go pick eggs and check the chickens, so I will close for now.

Yes! The lady called again and came over and bought four chickens. So I was pleased about that. Now I gotta go out and catch some chickens to take to the sale tomorrow . I am taking that Crevecour rooster, a mixed roo, a pair of white silkies, a black silkie roo, maybe some Ameraucauna. I will need to get up early, I never like that but it's a necessary evil. Hopefully I will sell more than I buy this time.

oh, and I got the shower door installed in the north side of the coop . I still can't believe how well it fits.
