Good going, Coach!
I too am going to Lowe's tomorrow , need lumber to build the runs for the new coop. And probably wire. Need some bread at the outlet, and feed for the goats. I just got a fan up in the Buckeye pen and the temperature drops 20 degrees ! But I am not going to complain about that, first day I have not been drenched in sweat. I am so happy with the progress on the coop. There are a few areas that need paint on the outside, but it was damp today so I will do that later.
I about had a heart attack, one of the quail got out and flew about 200 yards! I thought I was never going to see it again! But I got out the net and managed to scoop it up. I was trying to get a picture to send my Dad and I had the door open.
Have a great night, folks!

Made the trip to town and got some cheap lumber at Home Depot, half a sheet of plywood and 2x4s at Lowe's . Picked up a little tykes swing for the grandson and some more clothes for granddaughter .
Got a bill from the doctors office, almost $500 in office visits and labs. Ugh. All goes toward my deductible .:p
I really need to get the fence fixed and barbed wire strung . They are driving me crazy when I try to feed. Long list of stuff to do tomorrow .

I had a ok but not great day. My window guy is putting me off untill tomorrow so i need to frame up the windows before i can but up the sideing. I did go to town and get some more paint and feed. Maybe that's why i'm down today it's always depressing to to buy feed.

I am with you there, bought goat feed, two bags of chicken feed and there goes like $90. At least DH put it in the garage for me, my back has been giving me grief still. Queenie is out there howling, must be the coyotes are cutting up.
I need to ship some eggs tomorrow , so those need packing. Totally forgot them this morning, too preoccupied with all the stuff I need to do.

Today I got the outside of the coop totally painted. Only a few trim boards needed here and there. Also built two sections for the run, one got wire stapled on . Both are painted. Also built the nest box for the Polish mini coop, painted it and a nest box I made out of a fruit crate. Cut the fence where the goats have been stomping it, put in a post and a gate. The ground is so hard I had to water before pounding in the post. Also strung barbed wire along the fence going down to the barn. Tried to fix the fence behind the barn , put another post there to support it. Held in most of the goats at least until I got feeding done.
Tomorrow is stress test day, hope that goes ok, not looking forward to it at all:p

They call it stress test because that's what you do waiting for the day of the test. With all that you do at the farm i'm sure that you will do fine I got some more work on the big coop today and tomorrow i'm starting a new job with a friend of mine. He dose a lot of remodeling and has a lot of work and needs help. Lord knows i have a lot of experience in that.

They were very efficient at the Dr.s office today. Waited about ten minutes, and then taken in for the echo. Right in to the treadmill, then back for another echo. Man my heart was up to 141 beats a minute. Didn't like the looks of that EKG at all. So now i wait for a call from the office for a follow up appointment.:p
I stopped at Lowe's and got a great deal on a flowering dogwood tree. I just love looking at those in spring. I think my lilac bush died from the heat.:-(
Man, i don't know about you but i have a ton of stuff to do. Sold 4 young chickens today, and i have some one coming tomorrow . So that is good news.

Deb,
I was glad to see on another thread that the stress test went well. I'm hoping you get good results.

I finally got my breeding pen done for my Iowa Blues. I have 6 hens and 1 roo. I also have 3 12 week old pullets I put in there so I won't need to catch them when they start laying. How long do I need to wait until they are pure? I know they are fertile because I've hatched some pure while they were in the mixed flock. The roo also went right to business when I put them in there too.
