Freeze warning in effect! I went out and put on a backup light in the brooder. Some varmint was pestering the chickens and quail over towards my neighbors place so they called to warn me. I went out with a light and a gun but the dog got there before I did so all I saw is a shadow. Good the chickens sounded the alarm.
I finally took time to relax today, so I slept about two hours this afternoon. Then I got back out there to check all the chickens. It is cold out there, so I get work done and go inside to light a fire in the woodstove.
DH is coming home tomorrow , so I need to clean up around here. Got some ironing to do, oh joy

Yes, I did the dreaded ironing.. . DH says it has been 6 months but I doubt it. Today I dragged an unused goat house onto the wagon and rolled it over to chicken city. 4'x4' so it will work great as a shelter for the grow out pen. It was starting to rot on the bottom of the 2x4s, so I trimmed them back, made a base and put chicken wire across so no big varmints can get in under. It only had 2 sides to start with and one was falling off. So I painted, trimmed plywood and got three sides done. The roof was still good. Now I need to make the door and maybe a small window. Hopefully I can finish tomorrow .

Today DH cut the plywood for the door and the last side of the new coop. I need to get hinges tomorrow . I made a frame around the pop door so I can staple the wire of the run to it. Then I painted all the plywood, inside and out. Just need perches, feeder and waterers. He also fixed the fence where the dog made a hole in it. I am nervous with all these big predators around. Now my neighbor saw a coyote near her coop! Got the brooder washed out that I took down to the barn.
Packing eggs for PD Savage and Groundpecker tonight, will ship tomorrow . Had one silkie chick from Sonew hatch today.Hopefully more will hatch by morning.

Today all of my nieces family came over to see me and my family all 18 of them and counting me their was 5 already there. They loved my new sidewalk and rock work. They petted every thing from emus to pigs.

Today I shipped three boxes of eggs and sold 20 chicks. Bought chicken feed and gas. DH says I need to cut costs or get a part time job I told him I might sell the goats. But I really don't want to. Maybe I will sell the big buck. All the girls are probably pregnant already.
No trick or treaters tonight yet. We used to get 2-300 in Florida every year. I used to make myself a costume every year. One year I even scared my husband when I dressed up as Jeepers Creepers monster. Now I don't even decorate for the holiday because no one comes to see it.
Not feeling good today, my IBS is giving me grief. Even the lady at the feed store noticed I didn't look well. Charlie, my Papillon , is not feeling too good either. Lots of allergens around right now, that doesn't help matters any.
Tomorrow I have to ship more eggs. I bought the hinges for the shelter I built, so hope to finish that up.
