She is white.
I take calcium chews. Actually goat milk is ok but none of mine are milking right now, all pregnant. I do cave in and have ice cream sometimes.

We used to have a gob of goats, but we traded them all away a couple years ago. I miss them...somtimes!

We have 3 Jersey milkcows, Bossy is the only fresh one right now that is milking, then Bessy is due to have her calf in Febuary or January. Then Bell is a young heifer we haven't ever gotten bred. We need to breed Bossy and Bell. I'd like to get them bred to a Mini Jersey bull, but it's pretty pricey.

So my guts are feeling a little better. I did take a nap this afternoon, and i drank lots of water, plus ate pineapple which helps. I was planning on getting the nest boxes on the new coop, but after bending over so many times to fill waterers, I just felt too lousy. Maybe DH will do it tomorrow while I am at the auction. Not looking forward to getting up early in the cold, but I have roosters to sell. I just need them gone. The goats are aggravagting me, I am not feeling up to dealing with their antics. Tired of them jumping over fences, raiding the feed on the Mule, getting in my way when I am trying to work. I don't mind so much when i feel good, but I am grumpy when I don't feel good. What is up, folks?

I got 4 packages of eggs today.

I took a saw and cut the incubator apart. It is now in the house. My wife will love that. Now I just need to put it back together and have it warm and running by Sunday at noon.

Great Jim, you are welcome and i want to see pics of my grandchicks! I love your new Cochins! I bought two blue Cochin hens today, a little white mutt hen and four buckeyes. Hopefully some of them will lay eggs! It is so cold here, a lot of the hens have their legs crossed:p DH put up the new nest boxes today for the latest coop. I stapled the wire on two of the panels for the runs. Could not get my compressor to work so I had to use a hammer. Got the job done. Put a light up on the other side of the quail pen. Needed one to keep the water from freezing.
Still feeling miserable, my guts just refuse to normalize. Tired of running to the bathroom. i know, too much information. that is what it is like to be a grandma, always some ailment to plague you. After 50 , it is all downhill. Wish I were 30 again, man i could sure get things done then!
So did you get your incubator put in order? I have not had time to work on my rehab so I am firing up the reptipro and two styrobators, plus shoving all I can fit in the cabinet for the NYD hatch.
Sold a bunch of roosters for next to nothing, but at least I don't have to house and feed them. I got one silkie pen almost emptied , just three left to sell. Youngsters, getting ready for the next batch in the brooder. Got some pretty splash in that brooder. I love the insulated room. Still need to do some caulking and such. Wish it would warm up.

Thanks Deb. I think the Cochins are purty too. There are 14 of them. The main roo is a huge blue. His son is even bigger but I like the older ones color. There is a cockerel that got in a fight with another cockerel not long ago. He doesn't act like he feels well. His wattle is really swollen. I lanced it and put triple antibiotic ointment on it. I hope he pulls through. (He was thrown in for free). I did get 2 eggs out of them today. They are going in the NYD hatch eggs. These are the parents of the cochins I raised this summer that are POL.

I didn't get the incubator put back together. That will be for first thing in the morning. I had to make a home for the Cochins. I got the walls of my shed insulated today that has my breeding pens, well at least the North wall and the West wall along the pens. The East wall was done. I only went up 6'. The North side of the shed has 5 4' x 8' pens, an 8'x8' pen and an 8' x 12' pen. I need to put the wire across the top and make 6 more doors. I hope to finish tomorrow. I already have 3 of the pens full, turkeys, Langshans, and Cochins. One will be for the Guineas (the big one), one for the Wellies, one for the RIR, one for the BBS Ameraucanas, and I need to decide who gets the last one. It'll probably be the younger Langshans, although I should use it for a grow out pen. I need to move some out of the brooder room but the outside brooder already has some in it. Setting 150 +/- eggs for the NYD hatch means I need to make room. I'd like to clean out the rest of the shed and do 4 more pens. I already have the geese where one will be. I need one for the ducks too. I will need someplace for the Quail condo too. They are 9 days old. Deb, do you want to come help me finish?

My dog was such a good girl tonight. I have had an opossum running around for a few weeks. She knows where it hid and has sat watching whenever she is with me. Tonight she got it. It played dead until I made sure it really was dead.

Well, time for bed. Eggs get set in 13 hours for me.

You are going to have to duck if you only built it 6' tall:-D I can hardly wait to get the polish buff lace in their new home, and maybe I will put whites or white crested blue/ black in the other side. I still need to build a pen for my buff sebrights. He is the only rooster I keep with an attitude
He is so small, it makes me laugh when he tries to flog me! I pick him up and love on him, he sure hates that. Then he behaves for a few days.
DH cut down another tree today, glad it was small enough he didn't need help. I am trying to "rest":-D

I have 2 LF Cochins, both boys..but what the heck!
