Hello, has anyone ever ordered chicks online because i am looking for good places to order chicks online. Would tractersupply.com be a good place to order chicks?

Lots of people order their chicks online (I have too). There are a lot of hatcheries that will ship chicks, you might want to find one that's closest to you so the chicks won't have to go so far.

The hatchery I used was Murray McMurray. Other hatcheries I know of are Myers, Purely Poultry, MyPetChicken, Cackle, Ideal Poultry and I'm sure there are many others.

You can't order chicks from TSC. They aren't a hatchery. You can go into the store and buy chicks when they have chick days but they don't take orders.

This only works during the time they sell chicks in store. You can order some and they in turn put in that order to their hatchery supplier.

that's a great question! i researched the heck out of mypetchicken...only to find bad yelp reviews. many complained that the shipped birds died so now i am totally fearful of ordering birds on line. most have to travel far to get to me. have many other people had their on line chicks die or is that less common?
it makes a difference if you have a small...very tiny backyard flock.

Hey I got my chicks from tractor supply in SoCal. They source their chicks from Privets hatchery in New Mexico. I wouldn’t recommend them at ALL!!! Out of 4 chicks two of them have leg issues. One may have Varus or a slipped tendon. We think it’s a slipped tendon. But we are still unsure. The other is paralyzed and in a sling permanently.
