It allows you to put chickens in your cart online. I'm not ordering any so haven't gone any further then too look at what they advertise. I think they have a 15 bird minimum.

If you go in store they have some you canpick from with no minimum required. Be aware they sometimes mismark thier breeds. I bought to plymouth rock chicks and when they grey out they were actually california greys, which are white egg layers and very flighty.

Actually, I think each store is different. One of the Michigan store is a minimum of 3 when purchased at the store. One of the managers is a friend of my nephew, so I was told I could buy 2. They don't have good records on their knowledge of the breeds they have so will be passing on them. Only wanting 2 there is no room for error.

You can't order chicks from TSC. They aren't a hatchery. You can go into the store and buy chicks when they have chick days but they don't take orders.

true but many feed stores regardless if it's a big box like TSC or a local many are 3rd party sellers for hatcheries.

Not always the big box stores sometimes uses different hatcheries in different areas or even different times of the year...

Just going from what we were told locally.I'd guess it likely varies hatchery wise on location, availability etc.

I've ordered online many times, and never had any problems.

I usually use Murray McMurray, since they have such a wide choice of birds. I've also used Ideal in Texas, because they used to have a smaller minimum quantity.

All my birds have been delivered healthy, and out of probably 100 birds over the years, I've only lost one or two. Seems like a perfectly reasonable loss rate.

Just be sure you're completely ready for your birds when they arrive: food, water, heat, and litter.
