Only 5 eggs from 10 Hens

All my hens are of laying age but I am only getting 5 eggs a day! Do I worry or wait? How do I figure out who is laying and how much time do I give them to start laying?

Depends on the hens and the breed. If you have something like jersey giants you may not get eggs before 30 weeks. Be patient, it will happen in time. The season is still early. Try to remember chickens are not machines. Not every hen will lay an every day. Some lay every other day. On some rare occassions you might get a hen that never lays an egg. It happens. If you want to be sure who is laying and who is not the only way to find out is to sort them out in to laying pens and only once they lay an egg do you let them out.
