Hi only had Chucks for a week I have 5 and I noticed that my Leghorn has a scab / wart on heer comb there was only 1 but looks like its spreading.
Does anyone know what it is and can I get rid of it.
She is eating, Drinking and laying eggs and appears quite happy.
Should I remove her from the others.
I have spoken to the farm where I got them from and they said if she laying eggs and eating all should be fine.
Is this right?
Any help I would be glad about.
Thanks

And... You are feeding them what kind of food?
What kind of Wood Chips are those?
Black Walnut is poisonous.

I'd hope it will go away. It might be an infection.
Start 1 week of Apple Cider Vinegar that is the raw live type.
2 spoonfulls per quart for one week only.

Newspaper for pullets holds less germs and bacteria than shavings.
Sand might be best after 2 weeks. It dries out everything.

I feed them layer pellets and corn as a treat. The wood chip is pine.
They are all happy together although one does get picked on a little.
Thanks for your advice.

Thanks that rely helpful started on the ACV today.

I also contacted the farm where I got them from and asked about the avian pox they said that the chuck have been vaccinated for it,
so it would be unlikely to be that.

They advised Vaseline to be rubbed on the comb as it may be a fungus?

Any ideas or can chucks get avian pox after being vaccinated?

Many thanks
