So I hatched one chick out of my 12 in my makeshift incubator (pretty sad situation). Around the last few days before the hatch my wyandotte went broody and we stuck 11 eggs under her. So that I can avoid spending money at tractor supply on more chicks, could I place my chick in the play pen with my broody hen while she lays on her eggs? She’s in a separate kitty crate with her eggs and comes out once or twice to cluck eat and drink. So The new chick would have plenty of room and the heat plate. Thanks in advance. If she hasn't been broody long enough she may not accept the chick. If she accepts the chick, she'll need to abandon the eggs she's sitting on in order to take care of the chick she has.
