I've attached a splinting manual, which shows how to splint and wrap a wing, should help. Make sure to check often for any swelling, which can happen even after a while, you don't want anything to get too tight. Also watch for rubbing and irritation. Even if the wing doesn't heal perfect, she should be able to live a good life, since, being a chicken, they don't really have to fly. She will adapt to any imperfections with time. I hope she does well, and as your chicks grow you have a happy flock again. Depending on personality, she may enjoy being with the chicks when they are old enough to not need supplemental heat anymore. I have a couple of older hens (both blind) in a separate run that I put growing out chicks with until they are pretty close to lay, and my older hens really enjoy them and the company. Just depends on your hen. So sorry about the dog. Many have dog issues. Once you are past the worst of the shock and sorrow, it would be good to try to talk to them. Kindly explaining how traumatizing it was, and how much you cared about them, might make them a little more responsible with their dog. Many people simply just don't understand what is 'normal' behavior for a dog, they treat them and think of them like children. Which very often causes problems. They also often fail to understand that someone can bond with and love a chicken the same as they can any other animal. And sometimes, people are just jerks. The only way to be truly safe is to have an enclosure that is completely secure from roaming dogs. So sorry.
