Only you guys will understand

I never try to change their minds. I know the quality of my chicken and eggs are far better than the supermarket. They taste better, have a different consistancy and I feel so much better feeding my family "the good stuff:D". It is a shame that they will eat at fancy resturants and pay thru the nose to eat a small handful of "fresh, quality, organic food." I charge $4 for an 18 pack or $3 per dozen. I don't lower my price and I don't appologize for the price, or when I run out. I'm not a grocery store and the quality customers I have, appreciate the labors of love I go thru daily.
I'm not going to change their minds about it. It's not worth the extra stress and wanting to smack people upside the head for being... Whats the right word? Oblivious?

I too charge $3 per dozen which is way cheaper than some of the same eggs at my local grocery store. I have some brands that are $6.99 a dozen. If I could get away with it I would just give the eggs away for free. But well, chickens eat food and food costs money. My girls at the moment are giving me anywhere from 10 to 16 eggs a day and I am kind of over run. I didnt think it through when I got new chicks this year. All I knew is last year I ran out of eggs during christmas baking so I figured I should get more chickens and double that. So now I am trying to think of things to bake to use up some eggs because I get them faster than I can sell them.

Jenn14chicken- Its okay that your brother is odd. There are a lot of odd people out there that I have seen personally when working in the grocery store that pretty out there. I have had people try to help me ring through their produce because they dont want me to touch it. And actually with seeing people who are sometimes less than clean I sanitize up to my elbows with these alcohol wipes we have at every register. I had to do it last night because someone handed me money out of their bra.

I should have told them I didnt want their sweaty boob money. Ugh.

But on the same hand when I am at home I am not as diligent. I mean I wash my hands after handling my birds, raw meat, bathroom, the normal stuff but its not like I go around wiping everything down every other day or anything. And between the the grocery store work and not being a neat and clean freak at home I have a pretty decent immune system. I get cold sick maybe once a year. Havent this year yet. And my daughter is getting the same way. She has been sick once this year.

Well thank you, I'm pretty much like you, I clean and wash things when I need to and after handling some things depending on what it is. But I also have a good immune system because of not being crazy like my brother. He is odd that's for sure but I get him sometimes how he is with germs sometimes. But Ya I get him sometimes and I understand.

Yeah, my mom is odd too. She's not into super cleaning until someone gets sick. And then its lysol everywhere. I of course feel if someone is sick cleaning the house extra is not needed. I clean like normal but I am not going to go around every day spraying lysol everywhere. She likes to start it too when people she works with are sick. And I get shes trying to keep it out of the house but at the same time if you are overly cleaning youre not helping yourself out in the end and when you get sick and your immune system isnt good enough you get really sick.
