Ooops. Bought the wrong feed.

The grower has slightly more protein than the layer, but it's fine for them. Just make sure you've got oyster shell out as well. I will be feeding grower exclusively to my flock because I'm keeping a rooster, too.

x2! You'll be fine with what you have.

I feed my flock (girls are 12 wks to 1 1/2 years plus 2 roos) starter/grower with oyster shell in a separate feeder. That way the laying girls can get the extra calcium they need to produce eggs but the younger ones and the roos don't get to much.
 
For sure......I like to feed an 'all flock' 20% protein crumble to all ages and genders. Makes life much simpler to store and distribute one type of chow that everyone can eat and have calcium available at all times for the layers, oyster shell mixed with rinsed, dried, crushed chicken egg shells in a separate container.
The higher protein crumble offsets the 8% protein scratch grains and other kitchen/garden scraps I like to offer.
