OP question follow up encouragement idea suggestion

I think it can be set up to allow positive, neutral, or negative ratings, all of which are customizable, though I might be wrong :idunno. Given the culture here at BYC, the negative and neutral ones might offend people though.

This is what one site does:

Disagree is good. That shouldn't be too tough for some people???

Pure Genius is the best.

Now there's a thing. I'm sure some emicons have gone walkies.
There is an incredible range of emicons, how about getting a load more?
There is a thread somewhere about this.
I'll find it and link it when I am back on my computer.

Yeah, I think Kathy has a thread with the emojis....library?
Yes that one but also there is a thread about which, if any, new emojis should be added to the built in emoji list thing. I don't know what it's called.

I LOVE this!

How about an enhanced "like" system, one where you could choose a different type of rating for a post? Funny posts could get a funny rating, informative posts an informative rating, etc. I have no idea if something like that is compatible with the BYC software, but I like the idea. Just today I read a really good post by someone and it would have been nice to give it an informative rating, not just a like.

I second that. I used to "like" some older posts where I found useful for myself purely for bookmarking purposes. No as I am participating in discussions I also give likes as "I agree with you" or "this is a good answer to OP question". I have no idea what for I am receiving likes when welcoming new members. So categories of likes would be nice.
