Opal Legbar -Splits

Hoping for some clarification.

The Opal Legbar Rooster x The Crested Cream Legbar (both are shown here) are the proud new parents of 6 new eggs the trouble is.. I was expecting these splits to be coloured like my CCL hen. They are lavender. Is this normal? Everything I've read says the chicks should be cream. Probably a very basic question and I apologize for being so uneducated. I'm just shocked to see all these lavender chicks!

Your CCL hen must be split to lavender (opal) for this to happen.

That's what I was thinking! I genuinely don't understand how lol.. but I'll go with it!

Here is a punnet square that illustrates it. In this example the letter A is used, but could be any letter for these purposes.
Let's say that the capital A is the dominant gene for the Cream color and the lower case a is the gene for the lavender (opal) color:

So half the chicks will be Opal and half will be Cream/split to Opal.
You just happened to get all Opal with this particular hatch.
