Has anyone owned this breed before?
Beautiful but was wondering how they do in the heat and the temperament.

Also, where and how do legbars get those little feathers to stick up like at on top of the head?

I know barred rocks and Brown leghorn were used and they don't have those feathers like that.

CL were created in the UK. They used Araucana for the blue egg gene and Araucana in the UK have crests.

I would not recommend this breed to anyone trying to have Urban backyard chickens. They are incredibly skittish, terrified of EVERYTHING & super flighty. I regret getting them, EVERY DAY. I debate every day if I should get rid of them. I am hoping when they start laying and mature a bit, they will calm a bit, if they don't I will definitely get rid of them. Yes, they are gorgeous birds, but not for my set up.
