From here the brown hue on the shoulder looks like autosomal red.

The OEGBCA 2012 National show in Dalton, GA. 80 Opals shown, Best variety was a cockerel bred and shown by Ron Smith, This cockerel went on to win the best non recognized variety champion with over 200 non recognized birds competing at the National.

We are trying for 2013

Opals are soon to be dropped from the Unrecognized variety class and elevated into a Recognized VARIETY, The fees and paper work has been sent to the American Bantam Association, The date has been set for Dec 2013 at Knoxville, Tenn. at the ABA National. It has taken about 10 years with this project and I am so thankful for all the help along the way, The journey is not ending but it is at a milestone on the path
