We are pretty much just in the planning phase.. and there are lots of variables.

We discussed trying to get my dad over there .. but he's balking. Then we talked about my siblings going, but we really don't want to be "tied" down to what the family wants to do .. so DH and I are talking about our own little trip.

He's got friends in Scotland .. so THAT part will be taken care of .. We'll have to work out where to stay in Ireland.

But, to answer your question, we dont' know yet. It will most likely be in the summer .. could be this summer .. probably next.

My head hurts. I swear that my brain bone is broke. I've just spent the last several hours figuring out my taxes and then e-filing them and I don't wish that chore on anyone. I think that it's probably best that I know go outside and start cleaning up the yard. Nothing quite like simple work to help the body become as tired as my poor overworked brain. In lieu of overworked I was going to use "overtaxed" but I sure anyone who has filed their taxes feels they too are overtaxed.

Well the party went well, she was completely surprised and delighted thank goodness! I on the other hand am totally feuchered so an early night for me tonight. We have enough leftovers to feed an army now though, anyone want a slightly dried sandwich? Some soggy pasta salad?

Great job pulling off the surprise......not an easy task!
"feuchered"??? guessing it means tired, wiped-out, exhausted (though could mean sloshed, drunk)..... love the Scottish touch to your posts Highlander!!

It's raining here this morning..........which is my choice of precipitation anytime!!!! But bad for the DS and DIL who are having our GSs 5th birthday party this afternoon and will be cooking on the grill.....maybe it'll stop by this afternoon. I hope everyone has a great day!

Granny is at my brother's for a couple of days, so last night Hope and I went out for dinner. First time in a long time that it has been just the two of us so it was a nice change. I don't know what we must have been thinking when we ordered our meal. I got a 16 oz prime rib that was cooked to perfection and couldn't eat even half before I started feeling like one more bite and I'd burst. Hope only ordered an 8 oz cut and ate less than half of hers as well. So needless to say we left the restaurant with today's dinner in hand.

I had originally planned that this week I would take my welsummer hens from the main flock and place them in the back pen and coop with their rooster. A fellow BYCer had contacted me wanting fertile welsummer eggs. For the winter I have had all the large fowl hens in the same enclosure with a covered run. With just the one rooster in with 24 hens I'm not sure if the welsummer hens have been serviced so placing just the welsummers in one pen would eliminate that doubt. I had hoped that the weather was finally going to cooperate so I wouldn't have to deal with frozen waterers but it doesn't look to promising. While they are calling for 60 degree temperatures tomorrow they are also predicting single digit night time temps by midweek.

Fresh pot of coffee and a patch of cinnamon swirl muffins are due to come out of the oven in 14 minutes so if ya'll hurry................
