Opa's place -Where an old rooster visits with friends

Hi all, been a while since I posted to this so just wanted to check in.
I am on the BYC for a while today but with the warmer weather and lots to get done, my intentions of spending more time here are out the window!
Hope everyone is doing well.

Mags, great to see you here. I know what you mean about having trouble finding time. I just logged on, checked a few threads, and then Hope called wanting driving directions to get her out of a traffic jam so I need to stay close to the computer so I can access a map to guide her. If it weren't for that I would have logged off and gotten back outside.

Another long day. Didn't get done until after 8pm again. I ordered an Egg O Meter thermometer that came today and tomorrow I will start the incubator again with 39 eggs. They should hatch 2 days before Chickenstock and I hope I have lots hatch to give to the kids. I bet I make a lot of parents happy.

Morning all. Another scorcher here today (well for Scotland anyway!) Kids have a day off school so we are going to take the dogs to the forest and have a picnic. I'll take my camera and post pics for anyone that is interested. Should be a nice walk.

an egg-o-meter? Is that like a Spot Check?

The Egg O Meter is a thermometer with the temperature probe inside of a plastic egg filled with a material to simulate the biomass of an egg. You place it in your turner and supposedly it gives you a better reading of egg temperature. I just plugged in the incubator with 39 eggs so the madness continues.

Good afternoon everyone...
Just taking a little break from yard work, so I figured I would catch up on what's going on. Love the pictures of the chicks Opa. It is very beautiful out today. Can't believe the change in the weather, went from 50 on Wednesday to 84 on Thursday. Now it is about 80 and gorgeous. I hope it lasts. I just love being outside with the kids on a nice day. Hope everyone else is having nice weather.
