Opa's place -Where an old rooster visits with friends

I'm sure that buried somewhere, in some dark corner of my brain ,that information was placed there by my 7th grade science teacher.

Sadly, when you have kids you have to dust out the corners of the brain to help them with their questions.

I never considered it sad to have to dust out the corners of my brain to help my kids. What is sad is that they are 38-45 years old and rarely ask me for help, so my brain doesn't get dusted out as often as it should.

Evening folks!! Been a couple days since I've been here, went and spent some time with my delightful daughters and son-in-law and had a wonderful time. Still hot and muggy here and we have been getting some rain so some of the garden is surviving!! However, the coons and groundhog may not.......tore up our corn patch, wasn't much after the draught, but we still would have liked to have gotten more out of it, stinkers made a mess!! Squirrel decided it liked plums and peaches, we decided we like squirrel for dinner! Momma is doing ok, some confusion problems, but her hand is healing nicely. Have started canning tomatoes, looks like they will do ok after all. Got the fall garden planted, not to get rid of the groundhog so perhaps it will grow!

PK sounds like you had an interesting time, glad you enjoyed it.
viejo I am with you on the snakes!! Not my cup of tea!! Your ladies and their roo look great, I love a barred rock roo.
NAF glad you got your chicks, I am interested to see how you like the Freedom Rangers, I have thought about getting some too.
Ranchie and MamaG....

We don't dance the two-step anymore
All we need's a small part of the floor
The band can go on playin' almost anything it wants
When you fall in love everything's a waltz

Eyes were meant for lookin' into real close
Arms were meant for holdin' what you want the most
Lips were meant to say what bodies feel down in their hearts
When you fall in love everything's a waltz

We don't dance the two-step anymore
All we need's a small part of the floor
The band can go on playin' almost anything it wants
When you fall in love everything's a waltz

We don't hear the music that is being played
But all we need's the music that our two hearts make
Beating soft three-quarter time and we just sing along
When you fall in love everything's a waltz

We don't dance the two-step anymore
All we need's a small part of the floor
The band can go on playin' almost anything it wants
When you fall in love everything's a waltz

Oh the band can go on playin' almost anything it wants
Cause we're in love and everything's a waltz

Thank you CCMH. I love my girls, but My Rocky roo is the pits. He takes real good care of the girls, and has them all roosted up for the night when I go out to lock them up.

Opa, If you have enough to spare, then those beefsteaks also make great fried green tomatoes...
