I am going to show a Mottled Cochin hen next year and have no clue what to do. What is the difference between 4H and Open show? Do you have to take the bird out of the cage?
Thanks!

To show in 4H, the owner must be a registered youth member of 4H. Open shows are just what their name states - open to all chicken owners regardless of age. If an event is offered to both Open and 4H registrants, then a 4H member can (and usually does) cross enter in the "Open" portion of a show. An Open shower cannot, however cross enter in the 4H portion unless he or she is a registered 4H youth member.I am going to show a Mottled Cochin hen next year and have no clue what to do.
