Opinions needed. I can easily add 3 more Pullets to our flock

I was checking out My Pet Chickens website. I know they do not have a huge selection like the commercial hatcheries do. BUT, I also do not want five more. That is the minimum from Ideal.

SO, my question is if you were allowed just three more chicks from My Pet Chicken, what would you get and why....

a maran - because of the dark eggs

red sex link - because great layers and from pics on here really dark eggs

a buff orp - because they are supposed to be really gentle.

also, color variety - look at that, red, buff, cuckoo

try to stay away from EE's and leghorns - flighty

also, dont get a silkie unless you dont mind the pathetic crests.... thats my opinion so hope you guys dont get offended

darn!! they currently dont have marans!! and those red stars dont look so red!! i think you should wait until spring when they have more variety

Yes they do not have a bi selection right now but they do have the Buff Orpingtons.

The Golden Laced and Silver Laced Wyandottes look nice and sturdy.

I would get Buff orpingtons or silkies. I have never has a dutch bantam, but would look into it if i could get more. The BO's and silkies are friendlier. Good luck with your decision.

I just got 3 black Jersey Giants from Meyer. I like them because they will be big birds, and they are getting rarer.

That'a okay if you show them at the county fair I just went to you can get 2nd place for a 4 toed, hardly crested silkie with hard feathers in the tail...

I would have DQ'd that bird...not placed it! Okay enough ranting...

1 Black Star
& a GLW
