My 8 week old BO took sick over a week ago. I separated it right away and it hadn't opened its eyes for 7 days and barely moved. I was washing its eyes and applying vet rx. And sort of force feeding it wet chick starter for that time. I was trying to get the nerve to cull it and today it started opening its eyes again and eating on its own. I have never had chickens before and I do love my little 6 bird flock so much. Don't want anything bad to happen to the rest if I were to reintroduce the sick bird. Any advice is welcome. Thanks so much. Im in Central Florida. Picture is of a couple I call my twins.

After only a week, it should not be too hard to reintegrate your pullet back with her flock. I would try some supervised visits outside in the yard. If they act agressive for more than a few pecks, she could spend some time in a wire dog crate near them in the coop overnight, until you seem comfortable placing her back with them.

I shouldn't worry about her infecting the rest of my ladies with her mystery illness then? Shes still not 100percent. Shes still showimg symptoms, but she really was at deaths door two days ago.

i would wait until she is up and running properly, they will see that she is not still 100% and will pick on her. when she is ready and fit i would put up a separate run so they can see her but can’t get her, it might only take a few days, make sure they can all eat near each other. good luck.

Seems like shes gone back to being sick again. I think its time for me to call it. She doesn't open her eyes but only briefly when I'm near her and they look red and cloudy.
