OPINIONS ON THESE BREEDS

I will consider getting another Buckeye because I like the fact that they are a heritage breed. I am also considering The Golden Campamines because I like the wither eggs and I want a mixed egg basket with white, brown, dark brown, green, and blue.

My vote would be the Speckled Sussex...I just love mine, they are pretty, friendly and very good layers. I got mine last spring and they quickly became one of my favorites.

I also want to respond on Delaware’s. I have been happy with the breed. I have Delaware’s from 2 different hatcheries, McMurry and Ideal. I have not had any problems with them...mine are friendly, curious and good layers. They will jump on my lap when I am sitting outside on a lawn chair to see what I am doing. I have placed an order with Sandhill for some Delaware’s for this spring…because like tiki244 said, they are supposed to have some nice quality Delaware that lay jumbo eggs.

Don’t you just love spring time and getting to picking out new chicks?!!!
