Ok, I have 2 peachicks from an IB/BS cross. These are my first & any advise would be appreciated. With the pics I'm posting, what can y'all tell me about them? Color, gender? My yellow chick I thought was a BS but it's feathers don't look very peachy colored to me & on here I read white can pop up?

Ooh that light colored chick is a very very White looking chick, lol, and I may have been wrong with my "guess" about it being a BS.

Can you find out if both parents had any White flight feathers? White flights on the parents can mean they are both split to White... so you could have a pure White baby instead of a BS, or maybe even a BS that's split to White.

For now, I'd just watch those wing feathers, and if they start getting color you have a BS chick.... or maybe even a BS split to White chick if the parents have any White flights.

If I'm wrong, hopefully someone else that raises and hatches BS peafowl will chime in and correct what I've said.

Thanks for the reply!
That's what I was thinking with the yellow one, from the BS chicks I've seen they've appeared to have more color where mine is pretty snow white. There's a faint yellow tint to the tips but not enough that I wouldn't rule out my eyes are playing tricks on me lol. Hopefully their breeder has some input on their parents, maybe he can send me some pics.

First chick is white, both parents must be split to white. Sex is difficult to tell on whites till they are much older, whereas the IB looking chick, you should be able to sex in a month or so, someone else here may be able to tell you more accurately when.

My $.02, he/she is white. We have a BS chick here and we could see the wing color at 2 days. Welcome to Peafowl!

Of course I have a 50/50 chance, but I'm gonna guess male on the IB looking chick.
